What is DLA?


DLA is short for Dream Languages And Adult Literacy. It is one of (if not only) the best language institute in Uganda. It is located in Bbunga along Ggaba road in Makindye division at St. Karoli Lwanga Catholic Church, Ggaba.


DLA provides a wide range of international and local languages such as German, French, Spanish, Chinese (Mandarin), Arabic, Dutch, Kiswahili etc. Local languages include Luganda, Runyakitara, and many others.

We offer tailored German language courses from A1 to C1.


Yes. At DLA, you can take physical, online or hybrid classes scheduled at the time
of your convenience.


Dream Languages and Adult literacy offers the best language courses tailored to fit every learner’s goals regardless of their age, race or background.


Our courses are intensive. Learners study on average 10 hours a week. Depending on the level, learners achieve every level in 80- 120 hours.


DLA is a language school and exclusively offers language training. However, through our partners, DLA can recommend you the best study and internship opportunities that can help you live in Germany successfully. Note: All our programs highly follow a certain criterion and require certain qualifications.


Yes. DLA offers international certificates that are recognized by various embassies
across the world. For German, we offer ÖSD certificate that is recognised by the Germany, Australia and Switzerland embassies.

A1 is the basic German language. With this a learner can understand and make basic German sentences. Together with A2, they constitute the Elementary level. B1 is
Intermediary level. B2 and C1 are advanced levels. C2 is a pro.


It depends on the time invested. It usually takes 6 months of consistent learning.


To some learners it takes 8 months. To some 10 and others 12 months of
consistent learning. At DLA we try to reduce the learning period through intensive classes.


With appropriate preparation, the B1 exam is easy to pass. At DLA we offer exam preparations to help better prepare for the exam. In this way, the exam becomes less
challenging.


German has 6 levels according to CERF. These are A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2.
